Shinee Gaston, Director of Financial Aide

I was born in Compton, California and raised in Shreveport, Los Angeles. A few days after graduating from C.E. Byrd High School, I went off to basic training with the Army National Guard. I continued my service for 6 years, and throughout that time, I furthered my education at the University of Louisiana-Monroe majoring in Computer Information.

In 2003, I found an exciting but yet challenging new career opportunity that I enjoyed working in. I was given the chance to help people continue post-secondary education without the hassle of worrying about money to pay for it. I was able to counsel students on ways of financing their education while in school, and repayment options after school. Now, I am challenged to research, network and then soon would be able to apply what I have learned to our future students. I find it honorable and exciting to be apart of a brand new business specializing in helping and educating people. I anticipate success not only for the students who attend Brooklyn Institute, but also for the school itself. These are the reasons that I would like to work for Brooklyn Institute.

Daliah R. William, Student Services

Hello, my name is Daliah R. Williams. My birthday is February 5th and I was born in Muskogee, Oaklahoma but raised in Wichita, Kansas. After I graduated High School, I attended Wichita State University for a short time and then went on to Butler County Community College where I received a diploma for EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). Prior to that I had been a Certified Nursing Assistant for several years. I moved to Texas in the summer of 1996 where I started out in the business world and eventually went into management where I have several years of experience.

I went to work for High-Tech Institute in 2002 where I started out in Graduate Placement adviser but was quickly promoted to Director after only 3 months of service. I served as the Director of Graduate placement for 1 year. I left the company but returned in 2004 as a Student Services Adviser where I served in that position also for 1 year.

My reasoning for choosing Brooklyn Institute as my place of employment is because I believe this school will greatly serve the purpose for which they have set out to achieve! which is to provide the knowledge, education and experience sought out by all students who choose to be a part of Brooklyn Institute. I feel the knowledge and experience I have will be a great asset to the company and together we can make a difference in the lives of others. I see Brooklyn Institute being my employment home for many years to come.
